WTB Wood Elf (Wealdstone) Cultural Armor or Some Advice...

Currently I am wearing Praetorian (Katta ally) armor in most of my visible armor slots. I'd like to upgrade several of these slots, specifically the chest, head and hand slots.
Wood Elves wear "Wealdstone" cultural armor, and I would be looking for the Elegant variety with Sublime symbols of the Warmonger to go in them.
I realize these are expensive to make, but I have never seen any for sale in the bazaar. I suspect that there aren't many wood elves making these atm.

The other option I have considered is the SoF Warped Steel pieces. After adding Steam Cores to these pieces they become Martial Steel and the stats are actually a little better than the cultural. The downside to the SoF gear is the lack of augment slots for the Last Blood type augs.
Since I haven't experienced the drop rate for the Steam Cores, so I'm not sure if the Martial Steel is even a reasonable option or consideration.

Any advice or information anyone can provide will be appreciated.

good luck

a similar debate has taken place in the past on which may be better. since you want to go Elegant/Sublime for cultural imo especially once you get bazu/LB it statistically is better but you'll lack the mod2's the SoF has. as far as sublimes go i can make any/all you want. rough guess for guildee may be 200k each. they've been dropping in price to about 150k/attempt. add about a 35% tax for fail rate and you get 202.5k.  or basically you can figure if you want to just buy the parts and have me combine as Aweien has done in the past. i've made 4-5 sublimes for him alrdy.  As far as wood elves go, i have teauven as a contact to do smithing so you can try getting the parts together and having him combine. just tell Kryptmaker sent you =p. good luck

Thanks Tigro.

I'm still undecided which route to go right now. I posted on Steel Warrior to get some additional thoughts. If I do decide to go the cultural route, I'll definitely have you make the augs. for me.
Can you tell me specifically which components I should be looking for for the augs.,in the event I do go cultural?

components

primarily still i use tailorin for the sublime augs. you'll need Exquisite marrow+ exquisite animal pelt OR Exquisite spinneret fluid + exquisite silks (x2).  I believe Bonzz can do Sublime as well with either tailor or smith....the smithing parts would be Porous loam + tantalum ore. The porous loam and Tantalum ore is also what is used in the Elegant plate armor. i have quite a few tantalum templates on my trader instead of having to have them made as well.

I am not sure how much they

I am not sure how much they cost but I have seen the exquisite animal pelts and the exquisite silks drop at the greenhouse ...I got one the other night.  Again I am not sure how much they bazaar for but you can look there for some drops if needed, I will save any that I find while I plan to faction there for a while.

pelts and silks arent the

pelts and silks arent the hard part think you can get them in the bazaar for around a couple hundred plat, its the fluids and marrows that will run you around 175k+ a pop. They are sold or their rarity, which is very very rare so you can't really farm them.

ok, I wasnt sure how hard

ok, I wasnt sure how hard those were to get.  I did watch 2 porous loams drop in 2 hours in the ship.  We camped at the zoneline, maybe we were lucky on the drops.  This probably doesnt help you any Yorag but I would love to join if you venture that way and have the room.

At the current drop rate, or

At the current drop rate, or sublime, elgant peices, the rareity of bazu/lb augs, and the total cost.
It is much faster and debatably better in the long run to go with the sof gear maxed out with core's esances etc.

I used to want the whole cultural set, but once sof came out I realized the futility of it all, atm I wear a mix of both untill suck time as I can aquire a set of one or the other, probably never gonan happen so I will mix and max as best I can.

Working on SoF Armor

I had a helm and BP (warped Steel) in the bank but was holding off until I got a steam core or two. I managed to get one steam core a couple weeks ago so I placed it in the BP. It seems it's going to be easier and cheaper to go with the SoF gear as I can't predict how long it might be before I see any LB augs.
