So it is one of them nights where I sitting here in Norath just wandering from zone to zone doing a little bit of questing for my smithing trade.  I have wandered aimlessly for a several hours now and decide that I am bored and need a little exciement for the night before heading to bed.  Who, at the time, would have known what was about to happen could even remotely be real.  So I go out into the public looking to catch up with some kind of group looking for adventure, beware the rest of this story is not for the weak at heart.

So I get in contact with a group that is looking to do some missions in Stoneroot, group was to be 1 72 Cleric and his alter ego a 69 Berzerker, a 69 Warrior, and a 75 Magician.  I have never been there so figure what the heck, adventure and new sites is a bonus.  So after the short run thru some areas to get there the Cleric runs off to get the mission.  After sitting on a rock and pulling random mobs up top to kill the unexpected delay we were experiencing, the cleric informs us that he doesn't have the faction to get the mission.  So he calls in a guildmate to get the mission for us, turns out he was talking with the wrong person for the mission.  So to make small talk I started chatting with the Warrior finding out how strong she is.  The way I was figuring this would go is I would pull and she would tank, but not quite so, turns out she was roughly 9200 hit points and 1750 armor class BUFFED.  So I informed the group that I would pull and tank seeing as the Warrior was only at this point a wannabe warrior.  So when our fearless leader informed us that he talked with the wrong person I had a vague idea of what was going to happen once we got into mission, but I figured hey I am the puller/tank I can save this group, all they have to do is stand back and just wait for me to bring the mobs to them.  But what I didn't know was......well we will get to that point.

Ok so mission in hand we head off to start it out.  We zone in and asked them how they would like to do this, I have never been here before but it would only take a couple mobs to get set into rythm and they agreed, I was to pull/tank.  So we get to the outer gate and have to kill these huge spideys, so I got single pulls the first few then had to split 2.  Told the warrior I am going to snare/fd split these 2 do you know how to tag?  She responds back with, "Of course I know how to tag", so here I go, run up cast snare, run part way back, FD, and before I could get the words "wait for tag call" out of my mouth I see arrows being let loose like crazy, and on top of that the unsnared mob was being attcked, not my intended target.  SO I lay there and watch as the warrior drops in less then 7 seconds.  The mage ported out, the berzerker drops and the cleric actualy did the 1 smart thing all night, he camped.  So now 40 minutes go by before the mage comes running back and the rez's are done and we are set again.  I tell the warrior, do NOT attack anything, we are not going to tag anymore since it is obvious you don't know how to, and PLEASE next time assist me don't go attacking anything you see fit.  "Yes boss, whatever you say."  Bit sarcastic but I don't care at this point, just listen to me.  So clear the first 2 again singles no problem.  Back to the splitting the 2 and I cross my fingers and hope she listens.  Run up snare, run back FD, POOF.  WOW what just happened?  no mobs standing there, hmmm odd.  I look around and here they come the 2 I pulled plus 3 more that the warrior pulled with arrows, the mage CoTed me!!!!!  And the warrior pulled her own for a total of 5 mobs, first words out of my mouth CAMP CLERIC!  The warrior drops, followed by the mage, I manage to get agro from all 5 and start to kite and try to land snare as I am going to get cleric time to camp.  No such luck, his alter ego was following the train trying to kill them, so after I drop the berzerker was seconds behind then the cleric.

After that complete wipe I decided it best to just leave well enough alone and head my own way, biting my tongue until it bled.  Task of killing 25 spideys we killed 4 and was there roughly 2 hours, not great odds.  I have decided after this experience that going looking for pick up groups is no longer an option, I will continue to rise up in the ranks by myself rather then chancing a night like that again.

Names, names, names!!!!

We need to know names and we need to know who these peeps are that way we avoid on trying to group with them.

Ah, how i missed grouping with Ribb and Fazoox, when we used to grind for 6 hours at a time, sometimes on weekends we can do like 12 hours, get like 10-12aa's a day. Get a couple of Ding, ping and Leadership pings. Oh, how i imagine those days could come back again.

PS: You shouldve been sending me a tell everytime youre online. IF so, you couldve gotten your 75 by now.
