I been thinking about posting this for a long time but it's a substancial amount of information and so I have put it up time and time again. But here it is as written on Allakhazam:

How to get keyed to Vex Thal - Luclin candy store for gearing up an entire guild.

Start off by obtaining yourself a Wisp Stone (summoned by Mages) and an Essence Emerald (created when a Necromancer sacrifices a 45+ player). Then head to Akheva Ruins and kill the Sacrificed Remains inside the Sacrificial Pit. They are PHs for "A Shimmering Presence" and have a respawn time of about five minutes.

You say, 'Hail, A shimmering presence'

A shimmering presence's voice invades your mind, drawing images of past present and future together into a perverse harmony. Some images you recognize as your own, but the others seem to be coming from the spirit's own [memories].'

You say, 'What memories?'

A shimmering presence begins to glow a bit brighter. Your mind is filled with visions of a great swirl of clouds and lightning. You can almost feel the wind of the storm creeping into the chinks in your armor. It looks as if the storm is creeping across the surface of Luclin. You see several figures standing at the entrance of a [great temple]. The storm seems to be bearing down on them.'

You say, 'What great temple?'

A shimmering presence continues to flood your mind with images of the storm bearing down on the temple. Your view suddenly shifts. You're still looking at the storm, but it appears to be moving toward you this time. There is a creature beside you wearing a robe, holding a scepter in one of his...four arms! He is obviously the leader of the group, As he is wearing beautiful [ornate robes] compared to the rest of the four armed figures around you.

You say, 'What ornate robes?'

A shimmering presence glows brighter still as your vision turns to follow the robed figure up the stairs of the entrance to the temple. The figure raises his scepter toward the storm and begins to recite some unfamiliar words. A crackle of magical energy blazes across the sky seemingly in defiance of the raging storm. The energy quickly dissipates however, and the storm continues to bear down on the temple. The figure cries out in pain as the scepter in his hand shatters into many shards. The sofly glowing gem from the scepter head rolls silently down the steps and disappears.

Hand over the Summoned Wisp Stone.

A shimmering presence begins to quiver and shake. The formless entity appears to grow and shrink in complete disregard to natural laws. The light in the temple around you appears to slowly dim until you are surrounded by an impenetrable cloak of shadows. Fear grips your heart as your vision slowly adapts to accommodate the low light. When you can finally make out the figure before you, you find yourself silently praying for the darkness to return.
You gain experience!!

Once you give him the wisp stone, he will despawn and turn into The Spirit of Akelha`Ra.

You say, 'Hail, The Spirit of Akelha`Ra'

The Spirit of Akelha`Ra 's hollow eyes look up at you. You have the distinct impression that she can see right into the darkest shadows of your soul. She opens her mouth to speak but the sounds you hear come from inside your mind. 'Greetings mortal, thank you for releasing me from my [tormented prison].'

You say, 'What tormented prison?'

The Spirit of Akelha`Ra appears to be fading in and out of existence as you speak to her. The spirit's voice fills your mind. 'I am Akelha`Ra, once high priestess of Luclin and leader of the Akheva. This form you see before you now is a fading remnant of my former existence. The storm was the cause of my imprisonment in the world of undying [spirits].'

You say, 'What spirits?'

The Spirit of Akelha`Ra says 'We Akheva are immortal entities placed in this plane by the mistrees of shadow. We are her most perfect creation. Death has no meaning to us, as even in death we find rebirth through the power of the mistress. My imprisonment was caused by my seperation from the power of the mistress by [Atenha`Ra]. It was she who sent the storm to destroy me and all that followed me.'

You say, 'Who is Atenha`Ra?'

The Spirit of Akelha`Ra says 'It is more then a little ironic that Atenha`Ra is a reflection of myself. An entity created from my own consciousness, a reflection of a shadow. She now holds the seat of grand power in [Vex Thal], and I have not the power to gain entry to the city, let alone face her. You must find my scepter that was lost in the storm to gain entry to Vex Thal. The scepter has likely lost much of its power from being shattered. Once it is reassembled you will need to merge a Orb of Luclinite with a source of celestial power inside the scepter. The spirits whisper that the emperor of the Shissar holds the power to manipulate such energy. Be weary of him, he is heralded as the slayer of gods, the defiler of realities.'

You say, 'What of Vex Thal?'

The Spirit of Akelha`Ra says 'Vex Thal is the sacred home of the Akheva. The place where Luclin's power directly touches this world...ungh...I can not summon the frame of my scepter in my current weakened state. I need a soul to regain my pow...' As she speaks you can see her slowly fade out of existence. You wonder how long her spirit will stay with this world. She seems entirely unable to speak to you now, and can only muster the strength to point at the ground at ______'s feet. ______ reaches down a picks up a small emerald off the ground, but it disappears silently into the shadows. Akelha`ra looks as if she is trying to speak again.'

You say, 'What frame of your scepter?'

The Spirit of Akelha`Ra opens her mouth to speak, but the voice in your head is no longer audible. You reach forward to touch the fading shadow of a creature and draw back in horror as your hand disrupts the spirit before you. She evaporates into the shadows once more.

Quickly give her the Essence Emerald.

The Spirit of Akelha`Ra laughs quietly as the energy of the gem is absorbed into her being. She begins to chant in what you presume to be Akhevan. She suddenly cries out in pain and her image begins to flicker. She looks at ______ directly in the eyes and says, 'Vyanemis Tuis, use my gift wisely.' She disappears into the black marble leaving only a dark scepter frame lying on the floor. ______ picks it up.

Receive Shadowed Scepter Frame, 10-slot container.

You now need to gather together 10 Lucid Shards. These identify as different letters, and are thus each unique. They identify and drop as follows:

Dat - Fungus Grove from Shik`Nar Warriors and Royals, confirmed from:

Shik`nar Warrior
Shik`nar Royal Guard

Combine these in the Scepter and you will create your Unadorned Scepter of Shadows. In the new container, you will need to combine the Planes Rift (obtained from Shissar Wraiths that spawn following Emperor Ssraeshza's death) and a Glowing Orb of Luclinite (dropped from various high end Luclin Mobs).

Upon combining those items, you'll create a Scepter of Shadows, which will get you into Vex Thal. Each member of the group must have a key to enter.

Tips on the different Lucid Shard drops:

Now... I have been rather lucky with these things myself and have 8 of the 10 shards at the time I write this down. Managed to get 3 of them in one and the same day soloing. There are however a bunch of them that can be hard to solo for some classes/levels and I'll try to tell what I know about them.

ACRYLIA CAVERNS:
Acording to the walkthru as above, you have to enter inner acrylia to get this shard. Not true... On rare occasions (such as for me) it drops from the dink-mobs right at zoneline. If you go here to farm acrylia or runes, keep your eyes open for something that looks like a Great Staff, but don't just dump it. The icon on Great Staff looks the same as a Lucid Shard. Make sure you check the name of the item. It's how I stumbled across my shard in this zone and at the time I didn't even know what it was. Glad I kept it now. However, I have been to this zone many times since then and the Lucid Shard drops rather frequently, especially in the inner city from the mobs listed there.

SANCTUS SERU:
I'm still missing this shard even after a brutally effective attempt with the help of Surrun. Together, him and me alone killed at least 60 legionnaires within an hour or two and still no shard... The strategy I was going to suggest here is as simple as it is faction-crashing. Sticking out tongue

Get anyone that can really tick off the mobs and get their attention. Surrun did this for me singing something they hated (probably slow, hehe). They hated him so bad they ran after his tail as soon as they see him. Next, bring a rogue with lots of throwing weapons. All legionnaires and the other mobs in here are human and patrol around pretty much by themselves on the upper outside wall. Ports to the area are simple platforms just inside the zoneline from Dawnshroud. Just run in the hallway, have the first toon get agro and Rogue running 20 yards or so behind, can kill these guys with a few hits using assassination (level 60 or above rogue ability), just stay sneaky and hidden and these guys die fast with that. Fighting them the 'normal way' will take time cause even tho they are low level mobs, they have a good bit of hitpoints and will add if the next wandering guard comes up before the first one is dead.
No matter what strategy you chose to kill these guys with, be prepared for a looong camp. This shard seem to be very rare.

The reason to why I chose Sanctus Seru instead of Katta Castellum is that if you plan on doing Rallic Pack turn ins or similar things in Katta, you will gain good faction there killing these guards. If you want to have good faction with Sanctus Seru and don't care much for Katta faction, the guard equivalents in Katta are also supposed to drop the same shard and killing them will improve your faction with Sanctus.

FUNGUS GROVE:
This one proved a lot harder then I first expected. The Shik'Nar you need in this zone are in a cave system right below the zone in from Twilight Sea. An underground complex of 3 ½ caves.
The one you might have your best shot at is the deepest one with the little water pond at the back of it. In here 2 Royal Guards will stand together with a bunch of small Advisors. Kill off the advisors first and keep cave clean from them or they will heal the Royals.
Guarding this cave is the Warlord and his Shik'Nar Warriors. The warriors will also drop shard but almost impossible to single pull without FD puller such as SK, Necro or Monk. This is an indoor zone and harmony won't work. Chanter can mez them tho. Pacify might also work.
Again, my group spent a very long time here killing more of these bugs then I care to think about, and still only one shard droped. Like with Sanctus shard, expect to have to return here and camp the place.

MAIDENS EYE:
This one is a pain in the butt. The Goranga that drops this shard are on a rather long spawn timer and have placeholders, at least the few that pops close to Dawnshroud zoneline by the big rock almost up by the building seen from DSP zone in tunnel. There is another camp on the opposite side of this zone that also has some of them and you might have to criss cross between the two camps to stand a good chance of not having to remain in this zone for many many hours. It's a place where roaming mobs and trap-triggered ones can make things irritating. Eye-wink

DAWNSHROUD PEAKS:
This one was easy. Altho it's said that Sambata mobs will drop the shard as well, I didn't actually see any. Only Tribals. So I ended up camping Rockhoppers instead. Took me less then an hour before one of them droped the shard.

THE GREY:
This is probably not as easy for other classes as it can be for a rogue to solo... Having invis to undeads as well as living with the rogue sneaky, I could run around in here until I found Stone Beasts. Keep your eyes open tho cause they seem to be proximity triggered. They just popped out of the rocks as I passed them and I almost missed them running around looking further ahead then the rock I just passed. O.o
This zone is overwhelmed with skeletons lying around, half concealed on the ground. If you solo this and don't have invis to undead, I'm quite sure you will get very large trains of annoying bonebags after you. Probably easiest to get a buddy and camp Sun Revenants by water.
Maybe I was lucky, but it only took me three kills to get shard here.
The big skeletons at north west by the water are also supposed to drop shard but they are much harder to solo. With a group, probably faster since they are easier to spot and repop on same place all the time.
They are to big for me to solo tho, so I went after the rock beast who only CON light blue and died easy to a 70 rogue soloing.

SCARLET DESERT:
This was also fairly easy to do. What I did realize soon enough tho was that instead of running around willy-nilly all over the zone looking for the Reavers and Revenants (they look like hooded thieves with a limp) and risking long annoying trains of centipedes, I found a plateu at almost the middle of zone. It looks like a mountain at first sight, but it does have a road going up the side and following it, you'll end up on the top of it. It's a flat headed topside that has a village of those little guys on it but also something that looks like a temple ruin. Inside this ruin is a named cheetah that is level 70 but appears to be indifferent to all unless attacked I would guess. Around it, the place is swarming with Reavers and Revenants. Easy to single pull for the most part and popping relatively fast. It took me a little while to get this shard but still not so long as Fungus did and Sanctus looks to be like.

These are the zones I have in fresh memory. If you have more info about the other places and tacticts/tips to get their shards, please feel free to post it here. For our guild to go rompin in Vex Thal, each and every member of the group/raid will need to have their own key so we might as well get started on this since it's a very timeconsuming and sometimes hard thing to do.
Anyone that wants help with these things, let me know and if I'm online and not already engaged in something, I'll be glad to help. A lot of these shards require a small group to handle anyway.
I myself am still missing Akheva and Sanctus for example and I know for sure I will need help with the Akheva one. O.o

The sacrificial pit and the 4 remains (Akheva Ruins)

When Llondor took me here for my last Lucid Shard, he also insisted that we get me the frame since the camp we used to kill things until the shard droped was close to the pit with the remains in it anyway.
The pit looks like an octagonal cut-out right into what looks like fancylike stairway in a large room with lots of mobs. It's easy to recognise because of the size of this hall, the entrance resembling the archways from colliseum and all the mobs in the area. 3 of those nasty 4-armed punks standing ontop of stairs just above the sacrifical remains (the remains themselves look like little blue guys lying flat, face down). Then there are 4 robed things all looking at the pit from the large floor in front of it and 2 more at the entrance to this room. East and west walls also have some mobs lined up along them.
The way Llondor showed me, one single person can do this, provided you have some invisibility and manage to avoid the trap-spawning mobs that sees invis getting to this room... (Nope, these traps can NOT be disarmed, you will have to rely on luck I'm afraid)
You will also need either some spell casting ability (damage) or the Throw Stone discipline. Ranged weapon didn't work from the pit itself, will explain why;

Once you make it to the room invisible, stand in the pit itself (where the remains are lying), squeeze yourself up against the absolute north corner in the octagon shaped little area with the 4 remains in it. This corner, if positioned right, you will be able to kill the 2 closest remains (they only have 1 hitpoint and will die instantly). The third one is unfortunately to far away from you for melee, but at same time, to close for ranged weapon (spell will work of course and I -think- the Throw Stone discipline might work also). I was trying this after Llondors instructions, he uses song to kill the third one I guess.
Either way, every time a remains die, a small spelltrap goes off and it will bust your invis (and yes, rogue hide also) but this is why you have to be squeezed up against the north corner. For some reason, all the mobs around and above doesn't seem to agro on you with your back up against the wall here.
The forth of the Sacrifical Remains, do not kill it! Only three of them... These remains are placeholders for the Shimmering Presence but if all four dies, the shimmering won't spawn. Just keep smacking three of them until the shimmering spawns. It has no graphical presentation tho so you have to have the NPC names visible to see it.
OBSERVE! Once you get it to spawn, you may or may not have to step out from your corner to do the turn ins. When I was here, it popped close enough that I didn't have to do that so I didn't get agro, but the turn ins DOES break invis and hide and if you have to step out to do them, get ready to give the shimmering presence it's 2 trinkets very fast and then run like hell to zoneline. You won't have time to cast a gate or something since the three 4-armed punks from above your head will pounce you instantly.

With this in mind, I decided to try a theory about killing the remains so I ran out from the pit and back across the room and stood hidden at the entrance. What I did next is a very rogue specific ability; From the long distance away that I was positioned, I threw my Shissar fangs on the remains to kill them since I was informed they only have 1 HP. When a rogue uses throwing weapons, Sneak and Hide is not broken as long as the mob don't hit you back with something.
IT WORKED! - I could safely kill the Sacrificed Remains without agroing anything at all. The spell-trap still went off, but I was safely outside its range and was never hit. The remains died and Shimmering Presence spawned. I also killed the 'wrong' remains, I killed the forth one instead of third (counted as the northmost one being 1'st and southmost one number 4), leaving only the third one untouched. The shimmering presence still spawned so it seems like you can kill any three of them, as long as one is left, it will be sufficient to eventually spawn the Shimmering Presence.

Llondor informed me that the repop on the Sacrificed Remains is about 5 mins so if the shimmering don't spawn on first round, at least it shouldn't be a very long camp to make it happen.

Happy hunting and may the Lucid Shards drop easy on you! Laughing out loud

the grey shard is also fairly easy to camp the skellies in the corner, coming from TS hang a right and follow the wall to the corner. Around the pond you will see the sun reverants, they single pull and my druid and wiz have kited them on the wall. Just have to watch for adds that hide in the rocks.

It don't really matter what order you do the things in. It comes down to a few combines regardless. The Wisp stone is a piece of cake, any mage can summon that. The frame thingy parts from remains are the tricky ones but easy today with a good group to clear the big room with the altar.

The hardest part isn't that nor even all the shards, the hardest part is actually the Rift. Those only drop from one place and one mob alone, Emperor Shraesza himselfs trashguards in the throne room.
Need a minor raid to kill that event and before doing that one has to get access key to Emperors room and there is no gimp shortcut for that.

Orbs of Luclinite are easy today. A few mobs here and there in Luclin zones that drops those.
Get in touch with Nadyne, Tallos, Lazarus and a few others that are working their VT keys. I think they are around those parts now.
I'll help to if I'm around and about the ol snakefaces. =)

By the storyline, you would not know to get anything else until you talked the shimmering presence.

You can collect any of the pieces in any order though as there are no flags involved. The only thing you must have done before another is to have the Ring of Shissar made before you can fight the emperor as there is NO gimping into his chamber.
