Personal Message to Multiple Addresses?

Is there a way to send personal messages to more then one address? I tried separating the names with commas and semi colans and neither worked.

There is a drop down menu with your contacts on it. In my case, everyone I've sent messages to in the past is on the last. Not sure how you add contacts to the list if you haven't previously sent a message to them though.
