Description:
Defend Norrath against acts of vengeance from enemies old and new! The clockwork armies of the evil gnomish necromancer Meldrath the Malignant gather in the Steamfont Mountains, awaiting his order to invade the kingdom of Ak’Anon. The launch of his great air fortress Mechanotus has torn open the earth, exposing new paths into unexplored regions of the ancient continent of Faydwer.

Ummm $40 american - $60ish kiwi + international exchange charge - a month before christmas - I might have to join the kids and sit on Santas knee this year.
I wonder if I can charge them copyright or something on my alt clerics name (bloodmoon akeeper) .........
Considering though that "supposedly " new expansions will only be being released once a year now , we are going from buying 2 expansions for 29.99 a piece, to buying 1 for 39.99 . So looks to me like we get to save 20 bucks as long as they stick to the 1 a year.

Fyre, i was thinking along the same lines as you, but someone pointed out that this expansion is just 8 months after the last one. so technically, they have not started the annual cycle yet, not until the next one.
However, if buying this gives them 6 months to fix bugs, and THEN 6 months to work on the next expansion, i feel it is well worth the cost.

For those of us who already own all of the previous expansions, it's not such a great deal. No pretty box, no free gifts, etc. just the privelege of getting to download the newest expansion.
I guess with the waning EQ population, they felt it necessary to raise the price to compensate for the lost revenues. 
Well, at least i read there would be. I also am hoping they will be, dare i say it, hoping against hope, advertising for the Christmas season?
The release cycle and complete package would be perfect to try to roll out an annual subscription drive.
