It seems that on the Planes of Power there will be ways to earn the ability to take more than one tradeskill over 200. Its inspired me to work up my tradeskills a little bit, here is where I stand right now.

Blacksmithing 207
Fletching 205
Fishing 200
Pottery 200
Baking 200
Brewing 200
Tailoring 158
Jewelrymaking 120

On the silly side

Alcohol Tolerance 200
Begging 2

12/8/03 Working smithing again finally, 207 now. Slow slow slow.

8/12/03 Finally got around to getting smithing to 200, spent 3 AAs on New Taanan Trade Skill Mastery, and intend to take smithing over 200 first.

2/9/03 Been awhile, smithing is a slow crawl up, 9 points until i reach 200, looks like a slow crawl unless I break myself and just buy materials in the bazaar and from vendors. Hunting things down is miserably slow. I am doing human cultural right now, we'll see how that goes.

1/4/03 - Fine Plate is now all trivial. I have to go to Acrylia Chain next to get reasonable chances at skill ups. Thats a lot of acrylia, especially considering that acrylia is what I will need at this point to bring tailoring up as well. May pop Jewelcrafting up to 150 next, at least thats all store buyable.

12-31-02 - Smithing is going slowly, not surprising really. 85 combines, 3 skill ups. Now I have to go out and make more leather padding. Five more points then Fine Steel is finished. Anyone wants a suit made, its not cheap.

12-30-02 - Finished baking for now, 200 there as well. Now on to smithing. Lots of Truffles available for sale. Halas 10 lb. meat pies too.

12-29-02 - Hit 200 in pottery today, brought up tailoring and jewelcrafting as well recently. Jewelrymaking is the only one of the ones I can do below 150. I plan to finish off baking shortly, then get to 188 smithing by finishing off fine plate. I'm throwing some exp into AAXP now so I don't expect to level fast, not that I ever did.

Before too much longer, all my tradeskills except Jewelrymaking will be at 200, whether I ever take that up will depend on other factor$. Once I have enough AAXP points to devote some to the tradeskills, I'll start taking them all to 250.

On the exp side, I'm going to have to level to 60 so I can go to some of the zones I need materials from to make some of the high end stuff.

I'm not sure yet, my first inclination is to choose smithing, but all of them have certain advantages.

You don't have to pick just one Iane, you can go to 250 in all 6 if you spend the AAXP on it.

first, it takes 3 aa's for the extra gm skill iane, so if you are doing it, you need to spend not one more, but 3 more points in a general skill... My personal preference for GM skills (as a wizardess interested in the finer fashions) would be tailoring first, then JC. Of course that is kind of a biased view, since those two are the only ones that are even really useable by a wizard 8o/. Of course I can't really complain... SOE finally realized that tailoring and VERY rare drops were the only source of wizard armor in particular (other PURE casters have much more readily obtained armor drops... and more useful too) Of course, they took that realization and completely blew it by making it so that ALL of the new recepies that actually benefit PURE casters are over 200 skill..... which is EXTREMELY difficult to achieve. /Sigh, they should at least make each skill scalable with parallel courses of 'study.' For instance, in tailoring, they should have a 'cloth' line and a 'leather' line. At any particular trivial 'tier' you should find one class of cloth and one class of leather, always scaling to the level at which they would expect to see someone naturally having the cash to make that kind of item... and actually making it nice for that level. With this method, there would be better tailored armors for casters prior to 200 tailoring (currently there is only raw silk and crystalline silk) as well as a better progression for monks, who can use any caster tailored armor, as well as any leather tailored armor... Of course, this example could also be applied to smithing with plate vs. chain. They should be 2 distinclty different armor classes, which is not dependent on just the AC rating of the armor.

OH 1 more thought, who would like to see ARMORS make use of the bane weapon idea, in reverse of course. If they can make weapons do more dmg vs. certain mobs, why can't they make armors absorb more damage depending on situations. For instance, plate armor would be nearly impenetrable except for blunt weapons and pierers IRL, while chain armor would be nearly impervious to piercing and provide a significant defense to blunt weapons (I know it seems kind of backwards with respect to blunt weapons, but imagine a full set of plate armor as a giant bell and you'll understand the physics) Of course, that would mean that casters catch the blunt end of the spectrum, since cloth is almost useless against ANY type of weapon, but that doesn't mean that caster armors couldn't provide some kind of 'spell' protection.... especially elemental resistances.

Iane, you need to get flagged for PoV or PoS. XP will flow into your AA's then.

yeah i know masin but not like anyone is going ot help me get flagged. the trials are rought and hard to pass.

besides exp flows big time in PoN solo if i can get the camp. you know groups actaully pull mobs over me and nearly get me killed cuz they think they have more right then me since they are a group and i am just solo? then have the actual never to get mad at me when my pet attacks their pull and it KSes them? hello its a charmed pet its not like i am a necro or mage and i can just dismiss my pet. sorry bit of a rant there lol.
