The Buried Sea is Broken up into two major Areas, the Pirate Zones and the Katta Zones. The third area, Soltaris is the raid content. Group and raid missions earn you coin that is like DoN crystals but there are 4 differnt types.

Pirate (Dubloon Coins)
The Pirate Section is made up of The Barren Coast and the Burried Sea Zones. In addtion, each Ilse in the Burried Sea is instanced for group missions and there is a special ship to ship combat instance. There is no progression arc that opens up a zone. There is a an Augment that requires you to do most or all of the solo Missions that take place in the Buried Sea (solo missions that take place in Barren Coast are not part of this, but missions that you get in Barren Coast that take place in Buried Sea are). Each Ilse in Buried Sea seems to have a group 5 mission instance arc (you have to have complete missions in order to request next one). Also in Barren Coast are several group ship to ship instances.

Katta (Orux)
Katta Castrum has an 8 Mission Progression Arc that opens a locked zone midway though and at the end opens Soltaris the raid zone. Also there is a Pottery piece collect quest that is similar to the skeleton hand quest for a range item. And group mission instances in all the zones. There is also an arc in Jewel of Atikki that leads to a mission to creat a mask.

 I have yet to find a Jardel's Hook instance anywhere, and I'm sure you all know how much I have played with everything in TBS. I am almost sure it doesn't exist, unless it has something to do with the Jardel the Pirate King encounter itself.
 Has anyone spotted one? I know jardelshook.zon was patched like the other instances, but eh .. no luck yet.

The Key to Awesomeness
So many quests, so many missions, different currencies, different type zones and faction within the same expansion. It's hard for this old brain to keep up with everything. Heck, I still have quests from TSS I haven't finished yet and faction from DoN to work on still. :-/
What really interests me in this expansion is the ally level armor from Katta. Here is a link to the factions and armor for each class:

I understand how you earn the Orux or Orum and that seems to be relatively straight forward. What I am confused about is how to get my faction raised. I have done several missions, Hide and Seek, the one with the warping mob in the pyramid you have to kill gradually, and some others that I can't remember. After checking my faction, I have enough Orux(m) to purchase a breastplate, but my faction is still Indifferent. Are there solo missions you can do to raise faction to ally or are they all group missions?
I know some of you have achieved ally already, and I really want to do this as the breastplate and legs would be significant upgrades for me.
The other thing I don't understand about this armor is the Purity and the energy things you have to purchase to "maintain" your armor. Can anyone tell me how this works? Do you have to insert an Energy item in order to get the stats on the armor?
This armor appears to be equal to if not a bit better than QVIC gear. Seems like a decent way to upgrade the guild if we can generate enough interest amongst the members to work on faction.

Group missions earn you 30 faction pts per mission. Solo missions earn you 10 faction. This is a faction chart, it may be off by 50 faction points as ive seen slightly differnt charts but its more or less correct (I've seen the -750 and 750 listed as -800 and 800 in other versions of the chart).
Generic Faction Levels
-2000 to -751 ...scowls at you, ready to attack
-750 to -501 ...glares at you threateningly
-500 to -101 ...glowers at you dubiously
-100 to -1 ...looks your way apprehensively
0 to 99 ...regards you indifferently
100 to 499 ...judges you amiably (400)
500 to 749 ...kindly considers you (250)
750 to 1099 ...looks upon you warmly (350)
1100 to ~2000 ...Ally faction
Each of the solo missions we are doing for the skeleton hand are earning 10 faction pts per mission. The same in katta for katta faction, unfortunately they nerfed the easiest mission so you can only do it 1 time. Many of the solo missions are not soloable if you can't kite.

Apparently no one else has found Jardel Hook missions. The zone is listed in Allakhazam but with no quests tied to it.
