I continued to do work for Clerics and Paladins of Camp Valor as well as some tasks for the necromancers who were farming body parts in the graveyards of Hills of Shade. I also ran across the Human and elven spirits who seem to be reenacting events leading up to the the curse.
Sister Daria asked me to find several missing members of her camp. First I tracked down Brom who had been sent to investigate the Borrowers. I found his skull among the fetishes. While there I ran into Arak Bladesour who seemed to have just returned to his camp with several bags. After defeating them I found bags of items that belonged to the Valor camp and the necromancers. I returned them to Shearon and Addle in the respective camps and they requested that I recover the rest of the stolen items. I took a party of adventurers to back to the Borrowers roost and was able to recover all the items as well as gather some eggs that Banty Bourdizzle requested for his omlette.
Coninuing my search, I found Castel Cloudskate out on the ilse in the North of the bay. After that I located Crusader Devolah in the Crypt to the south. She would not return until the ghouls had been cleared out so we assisted her in destroying these fiends, including their leader, Festerfang.
I delivered Brom's remains to Sister Daria and told her I had located the other two. I still had to find Sister Donna, but Grom, brother of Brom asked us to continue assisting Devolah in clearing out the crypt. We cleared out numerous zonbies, skeleton guardians and shades and obtained some of the Plumb maggots that Banty wanted for his omelette (only a necromancer would enjoy an omlette made from maggots). We also defeated the Ancestral Deathguard.
Returning to the camp, Grom had a new task for us. He wanted to find out why there were no undead in the south east area inhabited by the Dark Sporeli. Nastel Graygore in the gnome camp also wanted information on them. We investigate the tunnels and defeated both Deathspore and Rotcap sporeli. We discovered that the sporeli had ingested bones of the undead. We reported back to both Nastel and Grom.
Grom had a new task for us. He had been working on an undead extractor but needed some Glowing Icor that the necromancers used to control the bone golems as well as some of the cursed bark of the Treants in the area. Arreles Bonscronger also asked me to destroy some of the bone golems that they had lost control of so this seemed another opportunity to work both camps. We destroyed several golems and treants and obtained the items, as well as finding some mulches that droped the final ingredient for Banty's omelete, sprigs of rotweed. Banty was please with the ingredients for his omelette and asked me also to verify a map of the Hills of Shade that he had been creating with a gnome device. I also delivered the icor and bark to Grom.
Grom told me that he was cultivating fungus spores in an attempt to create a weapon agains the undead but they kept dieing. He needed some Sparks of Life from the Veridian spirits that inhabited the area. We destroyed several of them and obtained sparks. He then said he needed some undead essence extracted to feed his new sporelli. We went to the crypt and battled more undead, this time using the undead essence extractor that Grom had finished to absorb the essesce before they were destroyed.
While doing this I had a lead on Sister Donna. I heard that she was in the Blackwater spirit village. I obtained a mask from a mysterious stranger who said the mask would disguise me to the spirits. I talked to her and she said something about elves and ran off. I also talked to Jarvis, one of the spirits and asked me to find his friend Fendal who was supposed to be helping him. Fendal was in the bar and Jarvis wanted me to find out what he had been doing. None of the normal drinks could get Fendal to talk to me, what he realy desired was Absinthe. He send me to Old Shaffer who he said brewed some. Shaffer didn't have the ingredients, but I had some from our expedition into the Sporelli dens. He distilled the absinthe and I gave it to Fendal. Fendal had a vision of a Green Fairy and began to talk about beauty, of a girl named Amber. I then heard Jarvis yelling for help saying his ships were on fire. I had to report back to Sister Daria, but was determined to return to find out the rest of the story, knowing that the spirits were locked in a historical loop, I could come back at any time and pick up the story again.
Seeing that I had helped both Sister Daria and Grom, Brother Veritas told me they were running short on armaments and that there were several in the elven spirit camp. I returned to the mysterias stranger obtained a mask that would allow me free access to the elven camp. While collecting the weapons, I ran into Vathan Woodswatcher who was looking for his daughter Amber. Intriged, since this was the same name given by Fendal, I agreed to look for her. I found her on the path between the thier village and the Blackwater village, gazing out over the Blackwater village. I talked to several of her friends and found that she had been having a liason with a human. I brought this information back to Vathan and he asked me to assist his scouts in scouting the human village. Knowing that they too were stuck in a historical loop, I decided to get back to more pressing matters.
Jorun Gimblewibus in the necromancer camp had hired me to obtain some undead body parts fromt he grave yard and Arreles asked me to investigate some graverobbing competition. We cleared the undead from the graveyard and looted the tombs for Jorun. While we were there we discovered a pack of orcs robbing the graves also. I will come back with a larger force in the future to eliminate this competition.
